EMERGENCY FINANCIAL assistance at MEAC

Qualifying neighbors within our service area (the 45226, 45227, 45208, and 45209 zip codes) can receive assistance with payment of utility bills, rent, or mortgage, requests for birth certificates, and referrals for other important documents.

To reach the Emergency Financial Assistance Hotline, call 513.271.5501, extension 50.
The Hotline opens on the last Wednesday of the month, and calls are returned on a first-come, first-served basis, with a priority on new callers.
Please listen carefully when you call to make sure the Hotline is still open.

To request a birth certificate, you do not have to wait until the Hotline is open.

Assistance with Greater Cincinnati Water Works

  • At this time, GCWW plans to resume the delinquency/shutoff process starting April 4, 2022. Customers who have paid their accounts and/or have an active payment plan on their GCWW account and keep up with their current charges will be removed from the delinquency/shutoff process.

  • Customers in all of Hamilton County can enroll in a payment plan option through the GCWW PromisePay Portal.

  • The Greater Cincinnati Water Works Emergency Rental Assistance Program provides GCWW utility bill assistance for City of Cincinnati renters. The funds will pay water, sewer, and stormwater past due charges dating as far back as March 2020.

The Urban League has financial assistance available as well as a variety of educational programs through their Financial Empowerment Center.
